"I have a 97 DT200 and I am having a problem with my PTT. Recently I was loading my boat and the PTT would not run either direction. I got the boat home checked all connections pulled of the relays and had them tested by our maint. guy at work he told me the bottom was bad so I replaced. Now the motor tilts up but still wont go down. It will run both ways right off the battery by taking off blue and green wires. Blue positive, green negative goes up and reverse them the motor will go down. Im ready to take it to the shop. Any ideas appreciated."

"Just in Time, Thanks for your quick reply. I will go ahead and order another relay. It is about the cost of 1 hr. labor at the shop. Do you think both relays went bad at once?"
 
always replace both
if one go

if one goes out the other is on the way out
they ground out through each other

"I have a 1991 suzuki dt 140 and the trim only came up a short distance then stopped, but I was able to trim motor down. After boat set awhile I tried trimming motor up and it worked fine? Afterward I checked battery all cells are good and battery charged, but I did notice some wery slight corrision on battery terminals which I took care of.What do you think. --Thanks"
