Does anything power up when you turn the ingnition on? If no than I would check for a fuse on the ignition side.

turns out i think it may be the starter solenoid.. would that be expensive to replace?

"well next is to c if u have 12v to starter relay/solenoid
if so then turn the key and see if the meter gets 12V, this means the key switch is working"
