Hey everyone. Greetings from southwest WA.
My 1992 Suzuki dt25 on a 92 smoker craft has a very rough inconsistent power. Some times it runs perfect and I can hit a top speed of 29 mph and other times it can barely idle and stalls under any load.
The motor will bounce from almost being dead to complete raped ape in an instant and can change at any moment. (It died on me at the boat ramp twice which was scary)
I’ve gone through the whole fuel system. Cleaned the carbs completely and adjusted all the floats. New correct spark plugs and tested spark etc..
Well today on the lake I unplugged the TPS while it was going into **** mode and the idle immediately changed. Now the motor drives consistently and I can reach about 20mph but you can tell the timing is not advanced and is laggy and slow.
Do you think a new sensor is the culprit? They seem hard to find on these old motors.
