"My dorey-like alluminium 4.3M

"My dorey-like alluminium 4.3M boat sails like a dream powered by this 4 stroker. When I fully open the gas trottle however I get that unwanted vibration. Fast and uncomfortable to handhold the tiller handle. My transom is also made from alluminium,so I clad it with a flap of 2mm thick rubber matting. It overlaps the fastening and/or resting bracket but the vibration keeps on occurring. Anyone have a better idea or may be pinpointing to the reasons?

"I was looking at a Suzuki DF1

"I was looking at a Suzuki DF15 myself, but was hesitant after reading this. I asked the dealer to put one in his test tank for me to evaluate the vibration myself. Yup, I felt vibration and told him I was not interested. "How about loading that 15hp Yamaha in the tank, and if okay, I'll buy that instead."

He did, and I was surprised. I could not identify a winner. They both had similar vibration. After fussing with them both for 15 minutes, I bought the Suzuki ($250 cheaper).....and I had a ball over the weekend with it on my 11' Apex inflatable.

Coming out of an 8hp Mercury 2 stroke, this was a big jump in performance and noise reduction. Just an FYI, Suzuki degrades performance if you exceed rated rpm for more than 10 seconds. I was fortunate to have a spare prop with me that increased pitch by 1". Solved the problem."
