"motor will sometimes start, idle for 2 seconds and die. couldnt get it to start for a couple of hours. then, turned it on and rammed it into drive and gave it some gas befor it had a chance to die and it ran normal for the rest of day."

"good point, maybe some water in the tank....also, i was told that changing the plugs will fix a lot of problems. will try both. they want $150 to run the diagnostic. $150 for 10 minutes of work. i dont trust any boat mechanics, got soaked several times with my old omc."

"There is a white wire that is connected to the + side on the battery. If it gets loose or corroded it will cause this same thing to happen. The motor cranks up, idles high and cuts off. This wire supplies 12Volts to the computer. Check all your battery connections and if you have a battery switch check those connections also. I had this happen on my 140 and 175 Suzis."
