Hello,
I have a 18 foot invader twister fibreglass boat with a 1154 hp johnson 2 stroke. Everytime i fire it up, it idles fine, but as soon as i start to drive away, it surges and sputters. sometimes it lets me get a bit of speed up before it does it, sometimes it does it right away...it doesnt die and keeps running but sputters and surges like crazy. After trolling for an hour or more, it often runs totally fine. I checked fuel and its clean, no issue there. I only run premium and/ or aspen gas. Could it be the siphon valve? If so, how do i change it, as i THINK its in the internal tank? ( I could be wrong there) We notice the primer ball is often soft when its surging and occasionally squeezing it helps run better sometimes not.
Any ideas?
