Substitute for OMC Adhesive M

I know 3M 847 is equal to OMC adhesive M but it is not available locally and I really don't want to order and wait. Will automotive type 3M Super Weatherstrip adhesive be acceptable for the lower unit lower inner housing seal surfaces and the gearcase where it contacts the midsection?

What about using Permatex Aviation form a gasket #3 in place of the weatherstripping adhesive?

I was once told that the weatherstripping adhesive was the same stuff. But never confirmed.
