Look in for a little advise and need in a lotta knowledge,
In early June had a problem with a leaky live well pump and stuck bilge switch. That being said afew days later both Yamaha 150 carbed where totally under fresh water for 24 to 48 hours, till discovered at dock were it was still tied

dragged out with insurance for over two months ,did claim but denied powerhear after 1 motor had problems 3hrs of run time later.
one cylinder on portside of sarboard engine, rings locked up, Yamaha 150 2 stroke carbs, 250 hrs
is it just me or is it related or not?
after teardown by there tech no wear wear found,no carbon. But there is water in the oil storage tanks.

What was done to the motors on recovery ??-------Did they sit with water inside them for those 2 months ???--------------------------Motors must be started and run after recovery as soon as possible , like 3 to 6 hrs after !!!!

motor were down for 24 to 48hrs,pickeled then ran for about an hour. Had to go out of town, upon returning 5 days later checked on motors seemed OK ,ran for an hour or so ,seem OK (idle was a little low ) stopped. Sat for Roughly 4hrs cranked back up with in 10mins running at high RPM on motor started to bog down, shut off & 1 piston had sezied up. Had motor taked apart for ins. and all looks good. No carbon build-up , whole motor was very clean as expected with well maintained low hour motor. But what was discovered was oil was not replaced in storage tanks(seemed OK) and has water. And noticed water in motor mounted oil tanks.
Figured after a little run time the motor mounted tank started to pull from the storage tanks and now water in motor tanks( about 1/2 inch at the bottom). Insurance does not believe this is was the problem. Only stated that it is from wear and tear not water in oil because all other cylinders show no problem.Could there be another reason.
water in throttle body
clogged carbs.
rings rusted
The piston was almost round, top ring gone. After lock up removed all metal I could from cylinder (figured motor had to have more problems)while waiting on Insurance. After a while motor was turning free so I tried to crank it up and to my surprise in cranked. Eased it out of dock and dogged motor for at least an hour(not knowing about water in oil)other than a low Rpm seemed to run OK.
