We'll see two styles of raw water pumps (aka sea water pumps) being used.
One style will use a cam to cause the blades to fold and return, of which creates the pressure and suction action.
This impeller is centered within the body.
Note the impeller cam.
The other style will position the impeller eccentrically within the housing to cause the blades to fold and return, of which creates the pressure and suction action.
This impeller will not be centered within the body.
Note that is no impeller cam.

Side note.
Because three of four blades remain folded during no engine operation, this takes it's tole on the impeller.... especially during the winter layup duration.
Next winter, remove your impeller, and it will remain more resilient for the next season.
