Installed my new stator on my
Installed my new stator on my 1985 85 hp and get good spark - so I get the earmuffs out to see if it will start. But where are the water intakes? I see two rectangular holes about 2 inches in front of the prop? Are these the water intakes?
My earmuffs will not go wide enough to fit over the prop housing - are there earmuffs specific to Force engines? I suppose I could use a garbage can but the bottom ends looks pretty big for any garbage can I have ever seen.
BTW - thanks to Graham Lamb for his stator advice. I used an 1988 stator as a replacement for my 1985 - was a perfect fit - just had to crimp the 1985 2 pin connectors to the proper wires on the 1988 stator.
