i have a 1988 v4 110, at low speed it feels like i'm hitting stumps. i guess it could be coming out of gear, its real sudden and quick, it doesn't slow down, just a hard split second bump. and i don't notice it at cruzing or full speed ?????? any help?

Put a timing light on each cylinder, see if it is an ignition miss.--------------------Also check the VRO pump as a scource for the bump.-------------Check magnet on lower unit drain screw for any chunks of gear parts.

i capped the VRO and i'm mixing my oil/gas 50:1.
and i did not find any metal on the lower drain screw.
i will get the timing light on it,
but you dont think its coming in and out of gear?

I looked at a 115 HP recently, VRO pump was making a " horrible " thumping noise at idle !!!!-------------Post a video of the motor running ----------------IF I was standing near the motor I could probably tell.-------------------------Has anybody had the lower unit off for water pump work ?????.-----------Have cables been checked adjusted ????

ill try to get video tomorrow.
the bump is not constant very random
lower unit has not been off since i've owned it. 2004
water pump is factory as far as i know.
cables have not been checked.
sounds like i've got alot to do
