stuck drive shaft

I bought this 94 gamefisher by force 9.9 and what would cause the drive shaft to be stuck in the power head? Should of slid right out when putting new water pump in and it didnt.
any ideas? Thanx in advance :cool:
 
I have the housing off completely all I have is the powerhead and driveshaft. It should of slid right out like all other motors when removing the foot. got me a little confused. the foot is off, the exhaust housing is off etc.
 
Sounds like the drive/prop has hit something and the splines up inside the motor have twisted. You might get results by hooking up a slide hammer on the end of the shaft??
 
Heated it up and added vice grips and a couple of wacks and wala it came out. Now that Ive put it together and the engine revs up then down then up then down then up then down and shuts off.:mad: What would cause this?
 
Fuel pump? Check the diaphram.Carb settings? Try setting the air screw out at 1 turn for inital adjustment. Sucking air from somewhere?
