Stripped crankshaft

Will a normal m16 die work for this? Also gotta tap the nut...

Sure don't like the look of that crank and key...yuck!

Clean up the threads on the crankshaft with the proper die and get a new nut. And torque to proper setting.

I really doubt it is Metric. Probably 9/16 or 5/8 but I'm not going out to the shop to check on one now at 3:00 AM.
