Stripped bolt. How to fix?

I stripped this bolt while installing a new timing belt on my AQ131A. It holds the tensioner.

I'm not sure what to do next. Can anyone suggest how this can be repaired?

Thanks.

That should be a stud. You can remove it with a pair of visegrips and replace it. Or you could get lucky and run a die over it of the same thread size and pitch.

Wow.... you and this guy are having the exact same problem! :D

Once removed, replace this with the OEM or equivalent metric thread stud! Keep it all original if you can!

Be careful taking it off, I don't know if it's a standard thread, or a left hand thread? This you have to figure out. I agree with Ricardo, you must get the original equipment stud. Maybe if you look at the replacement stud, you can determine if it's a standard thread, or left hand thread? Before you take it out? You can use a vice grips, or an 8" pipe wrench to remove it.

If it's a standard thread, remember facing it "righty tighty, leftie loosey", just the opposite if it's a left hand thread. I would put some thread locker compound on it, for going into the engine block.

Thanks folks for the input I will try the PB blaster, lots of heat and double nuts to try and coax it out. It's been in there for 25 years so I'm concerned about breaking it off. But, we'll see.

I'll post the results.
