"I am helping a friend get a Ford Sabre engine running for use in a converted MFV. it has had all of the electrics stripped off and so I am starting from scratch.
Which do you think is best: wire the stop solenoid so it is energised in the "run" position as soon as the ignition comes on and provide a separate starter button…
OR
…use a conventional ignition switch with the spring return "start" contact and fit a separate stop switch that is pressed and held to energise the solenoid to the “stop” position until the engine stops?
Both methods have pros and cons, I just wondered what peoples views are on each.
Thanks,
