Still working on the 1971 7.5HP

No spark situation.

I just finished replacing the insulators and wires that go from the points to the coils.
The solder was covered by some type of black insulating material at the place in the insulator where the wire attaches to the screw.

What should I use there? Is there such a thing as electrical insulating silicone?

YESSSS! I now have spark.

With luck after modifying a fuel hose it will be running tomorrow.

Ran it in a barrel on Sunday.
It runs, shifts, idles, and looks new.
Starts easily, and is so quiet. Boat test this weekend.
I am one happy camper.
