sticky/binding throttle lever

Hello all,

I have a 2004 BF 225 and after doing some rewiring work in my console that required the cables to be disconnected, I reconnected them to my top mount binnacle. Now the throttle now feels very sticky, and almost like its binding up. I know the trim cable is wrapped around the throttle and that looks like its OK but still could be part of the problem. The cables are in the same place they were, maybe moved around an inch or so at the bottom of the console where they run back to the engine. No load on the cables in any way.

The only caveat is that I haven't tried pushing the button to move the throttle cable only and isolate it from putting the engine in gear.

I wonder if the fittings at the end of the cables either spun a few times or are catching each other?? They're both installed with the flat side to port and they popped right on, and the clips are in place.

Any recommendations for getting it move smoothly again?

Thanks!

I ended up spinning the prop a little bit and the shift rod moved...I think that was the issue - its now moving much better.

Yes - had to disconnect the cables for a project, then when I reconnected them, the shift cable was sluggish. Boat is on the trailer
