stern heavy deckboat

older model Deckboat brand with V6 OMC sits too low at stern. I've rebuilt the floor and deck and painting now. Without the fiberglass trimwork around the aft it would ship water and flood. It has the best sounding engine I've ever heard but am thinking about trading for a 4cyl to reduce weight so it might sit more level at the waterline. I really like the looks and functionalilty of the stripped deck for fishing. The hull is very wide and shallow and is quite a hot rod. Has anyone solved this problem with a lighter engine and wants to talk about it?

Never say one with a omc that sat too low in the water.

If it is all original, and you say you re-did the stringers and did not move the tank to the stern from a original position i am at a lost for a solution.

You have hidden water in the hull ? You would have seen it when you re-did the deck.

Maybe you can post a pic of your concerns regarding the boat. Maybe it sitting in the water.

Sound like something wrong with the boat.---------------A smaller motor will not help.------------------Check under the floor for waterlogged foam ( if so equipped )-------------and did you just aquire this boat.-----------How did it sit before ??

please don't start a new thread. Just keep it all in this thread, when you reply.

Take a pic post it. Could someone have changed out a 4 cylinder motor for the one in there now.

Take a pic of the drive from the side also.
