"The filling procedure of the Cobra drive is important and simple!
Drain it by removing the dip stick at top and the vent screw in lower unit.
Then fill from BOTTOM plug until oil comes out of lower unit vent screw, install the vent screw. Keep on filling until oil is on the mark of the dip-stick, when the dipstick is just inserted, not screwed down. When oil is at the mark, install the dip-stick, install the fill/drain plug at the bottom.
Double check level with the dipstick after some time and before launch."

"ok, but when you greese the fitting at the top of the out drive how do you know when you have pumped enough greese into the fitting. I think the fitting goes to the shaft."

"If you mean the zirc fitting on the starboard side of the transom mount around the middle (there is no fitting on the top?), this is to grease the gimbal bearing. I give mine about 6 pumps every year but the best way to know is to remove the drive and see if the grease is getting through the tube to the bearing itself"
