"Will not work on my 25 horse Johnson, it was fine then wheel would spin freely but motor would not turn, any ideas?"

i dont want to sound like a smart ass but i think its time for a new teleflex unit.

It's not uncommon to replace the helm unit behind the steering wheel at the same time a cable is replaced.
