Potential replacement motor:
2000 Johnson 35 Long Shaft
Craiglist ad does not provide Model/Serial #s

The Johnson is a tiller motor. How do I figure out if the remote steering, throttle and shift controls from my current motor would work with the Johnson?

Yes, the Johnson is electric start.

Sometime in the 1990’s they changed the tiller handle to the center of the motor and located the shift handle on the front of the motor as well. The newer models use a cable for the throttle and shift instead of mechanical linkage of earlier models.I doubt your old control box will work.
