"we are having trouble left steering, is there simple way to adjust the cables as the gromets are strained."

How old is the boat and why does it not have a single push pull cable?Those old tiller cable systems are now banned on anything over 40hp I believe.

Maybe its time to upgrade to hydraulic steering it make a big difference and is well worth it.

Take it back to your dealer and ask them to kindly correct this blunder.There should be warranty!!!!
