Steering Issues On My Johnson 200

I am having trouble with the steering on my 1989 Johnson 200 Ocean Runner. The steering has become very tight in the center of the steering range. Is there a way to determine if the problem is in the cables or in some other component? Are there lubrication points that I have not found? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The first thing to do is disconnect the steering link from the mtr to the steering cable. If the mtr moves freely you have cable probs. If not, you have mtr probs.
