Steering froze up

"I have a 19 foot center console boat with a suzuki dt 140, both are 1996 year. I looked and steering says teleflex on it and it's frozen up-worked about a month ago and all fittings on motor are greased.I am not familiar with these so I don't know where to begin."

"It sounds like the teleflex cable may be rusted.
1. Disconnect the connection and make sure the motor will turn by hand. If not Check for any missed grease zerts.
2. Motor ok, try turning wheel to the right and expose some of the shaft clean up any rust with emry paper or a wire brush find the grease fitting on the motor end and and keep working until free.
3. Doubtful but if the above does not work check the steering wheel its messy but if the cable is bad you are going to have to open this end any way

Thanks. I had 3 grease fitting

Thanks. I had 3 grease fittings on the tilt tube so I am assuming one of them was for the steering cable. The boat is stored on a trailer and it's used in saltwater.
