"I just installed an new Telef

"I just installed an new Teleflex rotary mechanical steering system on my 1975 115 Johnson.
It steers way to easy. I haven't seen anything in the steering instruction or the engine manual about adding some friction.
Also, when turning the helm slow, it like I can feel small bumps
Any ideas about these?"

Mike....have you tried it in the water running since you installed kit?it may not be as loose then..also try turning the motor by hand and see how loose it is...i dont know the brand i have installed on my boat but it is much easier to turn it from the wheel while on trailer..the important thing is the wheel controls the motor and not vice versa if you let go of the wheel while underway..good luck...Carl
