49 horse Maybe 80's Teleflex steering cable won't pull out. Removed from helm. I looked up Youtube. I sprayedCroil although I don't know how much got in, beat the heck out of it try to inject ATF. This thing ain't coming out. The end piece spins and I can only move it about a 16th of an inch . It is all the way tight to the tube . Saltwater flooded the boat, trying to fix it for a friend. I took pics but don't know how to include them here. Any other suggestions?
 
I assume you have done the obvious & untreated it from the tilt tube & removed the nut from the link on the other end.

So if it truly won't pull out then it's corroded in the tube. Heat the tube & see if it helps.

Otherwise, you are looking at replacing the tube & that requires slinging the engine to remove the weight.
