Stator wiring question....

So I'm rewiring a 17ft smokercraft with an 84 evinrude, 50 hp. Mice and coons went to town on it. My question is, does the stator (more specifically, the re-charge circuit) use a different set of leads going back to the battery for recharging while running, or does it have a setup that backfeeds the two leads that the starter itself uses when starting?...rookie question, but I'm not seeing any wires designated for re-charge purposes

There should be a red wire from the rectifier.-----That wire goes to starter solenoid big post , that goes to positive on battery.
