1969 evinrude electric shift .

1969 evinrude electric shift . I started the motor it runs and shifts great . I put earmuffs on it for water and i can't tell where the water is supposed to come out when it's running so I know that the water pump is working . Where is the water supposed to come out at ?

You can check your local library to see if they carry any repair manuals for your motor. I live in southern california and have found within 3 local libraries easy access to repair manuals. Good luck.

There is no "tell tale " on this motor.You could install one if you want.If you do not know the condition of the impeller you would be smart to install a new one.Have you tested the overheat warning Light / buzzer.The early motors had a warning light and again you would be smart to install a buzzer.A mist of water will come out of the exhaust relief holes at the back of the motor.
