so i have an 95 merc 50hp 500 series and i just replaced all the wiring for starting and now it seems like the fuel won't stay pressurized? i hit the choke and it cranks but then dies after a couple of seconds of running. i have to re pump the bulb that hooks up to the gas tanks what could cause this i am lost!!! i don't know if the wiring is the issue i don't see how it could be, could it be the carb?

Operate the manual fuel pump ( primer ball ) to fill the carburetors.-------Use control box and operate it to give throttle in nuetral.----------Operate choke and hold choke on WHILE cranking the starter motor.-----When motor starts operate choke as needed till motor stays running. then slow motor down to idle speed.------------The primer ball does not need to be hard after motor has started and has been running !
