Starter removal mid-80 35hp Johnson

What am I missing here? I need to remove the starter so I can remove the carburator (the fuel flow is being blocked in the carb).
I have all screws, bolts, and nuts removed from the mounting bracket, the starter jiggles around, it is loose. But there is a threaded bolt on the rightside of the motor head and a threaded bolt on the starter bracket frontside. These studs are 90 degrees to eachother, each passing through a bracket hole.

How is this bracket supposed to slide off?. It seems one of these threaded studs need to be removed?

You are right joe.
I have found out that, the stud should instead be a hole for a bolt.
I'll figure out how to remove it tomorrow

If long enough, normally two thin nuts counter torqued.
Then use the inner nut to unscrew.
