starter motor brushes

hi , can anyone tell me where i can get starter motor brushes for a 1993 100 hp. 2 stroke 4cylinder MM o/b.
engine serial # is OGO14413
the starter motor has a # on it also. it's 50-66015-1 if thats any help.
ive been troubleshooting my starting problem for awhile and i hope ive narrowed it down to the starter.
batteries r fully charged, voltage to the load side of the solenoid, neutral safety switch checks ok.
took apart the starter and cleaned it up but the brushes are worn down. before i buy a startyer id like to replace the brushes 1st.
Any help will b appreciated. i live out in central suffolk, L.I.N.Y.

I get them from the local starter / alternator shop-----10 sets at a time and $4.50 a set.---------Take a continuity reading from commutator to the shaft and report the results , it should be infinity !

If the solenoid is original I would replace it also...20 years is a long time.

darn, i forgot all about that test. and uh-oh, not good results, its not infinity, was about 6-8 ohms.

You need to replace the armature or get a new starter.----It just will not turn over fast enuff to get proper starting the way it is now.
