Starter kit for M40D????

I have an early M40D.....I have a starter, keyed ignition, and battery cables, what all else do I need....is there a "starter kit" available for these models? HELP

The complete starter kit includes a rectifier and a lot of small parts, including neutral safety switch and wiring and of course the solenoid. The kit is intended to convert tiller models to electric start.

Which kit E Or F or?

Tiller models are F type. Remote models are P type. If you are not electric now, you are probably F type, as all remote models came with electric start and charging.

Since you already have a few of the most expensive parts, have your local dealer look it up, and you can order the rest of the bits from the kit, saving the cost of the starter motor, etc.
