So a little backround i Just go this 1986 (Serial # A956313) Mercury 25Hp 2 stroke, New gas with 50:1 ratio. I took it out and it fired right up, drove around the lake for about an hour. Had a new gas tank for it and my buddy said he opened the vent (Which he didn't) then it started acting up, It would start up and we would start *going and then die.
We took the boat back to the house hooked it up on some muffs and realized the vent on the tank wasnt open. Opened the vent and once we did that it would run great in forward and reverse but would DIE in Neutral. It ran fine in neutral early in the day????
I was thinking*maybe tighten the idle screw but i need help locateing the screw. Also does anyonme have anyother suggestions?
