Stalling out

I have a 2004 f50tlrc, ser# 62y1006609. I do not have a tach. It seems that about midrange, on takeoff, it wants to stall out. If I back out of the throttle, get back in it, it will usually do better. It does not seem to matter how hard you push the throttle. does it regardless. it is cold blooded, other than that i love it. THanks.

No engine is cold blooded. It either has thermostats and a well operating cooling system or it doesn't and must be addressed. What is the health of the engine like? (compression and spark test) Has it sat for any length of time? (carbs?) Is the fuel quality good? (no water, clear, fresh) Do not run the engine near W.O.T until you fix this problem or you might just seize a piston.
