Stalling at full throttle

"I have a 1997 Johnson 50 SPL.

"I have a 1997 Johnson 50 SPL.
It runs great while at idle till about 1/2 throttle. When I run it at full throttle it will run for approx. 20 seconds and come to a sudden stall. As soon as the boat comes to a stop it will start back up and run fine untill I run it at full throttle again.
I have checked the valve on the tank and it is open, any ideas?"

Now, do you do anything before turning the key to restart it such as pumping the fuel primer bulb up hard again.... anything? And does the engine start immediately or is there some cranking involved, and is engaging the fuel primer solenoid (pushing the key in) necessary to restart?

I assume that you're running on portable 6 gallon tanks, not a built in tank?"

"All I do is wait for the boat to come to a stop, put it in nuetral, and turn the key. It will start immediately, and run fine at idle up to half throttle. As soon as I run it at full throttle it will run for approx. 20 seconds and stall/stop all at once, no sputtering or anything. The first time it happened I thought I had hit the key by mistake.

12 gallon portable tank, fresh fuel, new fuel lines, new fuel filters/water seperator.
