"14.25 represents the diameter

"14.25 represents the diameter. The larger the diameter, the less RPMs you will achieve. Props for outboards are sold by pitch, no diameter. You will naturally loose RPMs when going to stainless due to the rigidity of the blades and the added cup. You may find yourself dropping to 19", depending on your rig and your current WOT."

"Stainless props are the way t

"Stainless props are the way to go if you run in waters where your not likely to strike heavy solid objects or rocks. You can hit smaller stuff once in a while which the gearcase can handle and not have to send the prop in for a rebuild every time. You will come out of the hole quicker as stainless props don't flex under load. My rule of thumb, outboards don't like heavy lugging. I go for a prop with a pitch that would allow the engine to over rev slightly, which means you are in a lower gear. This takes strain off the crank, rods and wrist pins. Just don't take the engine up over the factory red line even though it can. You may have top end that is down a few miles an hour but you'll have an engine that will last longer."
