Sputtering Mariner 100

We have a 1988 Mariner 100hp, 4cyl that refuses to run smoothly. New plugs, rebuilt carbs, new fuel pump diaphragms, and clean, flowing gas from the tank have not cured our problem. Also, would someone mind giving a quick explanation of the 2+2 cylinder/ fuel pump accelerator system. Any help is greatly appreciated. This is a video of the engine trying to run: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TjCwcZHfd8

2+2 cylinder/ fuel pump accelerator system.
It runs on 2 cylinders until about 1800 RPM then the other two "kick" into action. The accellerator pump is the same as on an auto carb...slam the throttle and it provides a burst of fuel. I agree w/Jeff...cylinder miss. You might see it in the dark as the spark jumps to ground. Try to increase the miss by spraying the ignition wires w/water one at a time.
