"Well, it looks like we are finally good to go. I have made the call and the hauler will launch for me next Thursday. The last problem, the alternator not charging was resolved with a new voltage regulator ($93.00, better than a whole new alternator!)and the ammeter is even working now.
The carbs are adjusted as good as I can get them and at 1000 rpm she idles nicely.
I ran it for about an hour and the temp stayed constant, high on the gauge but measuring about 180 deg. in the tank. I think it is ok. We'll see what happens under load and with more throttle.
So, we'll move on to sea trials.
