"I have a question for my 55 10hp and 63 10hp Johnson's. What is the correct spark plug? I have seen Champion j6c, j4c, and j8c all listed. Which is it? Thanks guys this is a great forum."
 
DO NOT use the J8C plug.... to

DO NOT use the J8C plug.... too hot!

The specified plug is the J4C plug and the alternative plug is the J6C plug which may result in improved performance. Try both and gap them at .030 .

Thanks Joe!! This is a big help. My winter project is rebuilding the 55 it is in great cosmetic shape and I want it to run as well as it looks.
