Spark plug issue Any ideas

I have a 1988 crusiers inc w/

I have a 1988 crusiers inc w/ twin 270 crusaders. My port engine keeps poping spark plugs aroud 3000rpm. The porcelain is the only thig that comes out though. The metal part of the plug stays tightly threaded into the head. This has happened three times this season. A few of my friends say a ring might be hanging up or there might be a little bit of water getting into the cylinder. Any thoughts?

"Water in cylinder is only going to increase compression or hydrolock, not going to pop your spark plugs. Are you cracking the porcelin when you are installing them? Do not over tighten them either."

"I'd agree with Stephen. Having taken those plugs in and out about 8 times (that's 128 plug changes) in the last 10 months, it is SO easy to angle the ratchet and crack the porcelain whether going in or taking them out."

"Sounds to me that the piston

"Sounds to me that the piston is somehow whacking them. Not good! Try using an anti-fouling plug lifter and see if that helps. NAPA and etc. sell them for oil burning motors (which is not yours, of course, but will move the plug higher).

The metal tip of the plug is not damaged though. If the piston hit the tip of the plug wouldn't it be bent or something?

"Try this: After the motor has sat for several days without being run, disable the ignition so it can't start and crank it over. Listen to it carefully: Does it go RRRRRRRR, or does it go RRR-hesitate--RRR-hesitate? If the later, then you're getting water in that cylinder from te manifold or riser, and that needs immediate correction.

thanks jeff. I will try it asap. I haven't been able to go to the marina in a while. too many other toys. but I will let you know my issue.
