Spark plug gap

I have 6.0, 2007 Crusaders installed with .040 gaps on the plugs. Crusader 's Manuel states they should be .060. Called Crusader and they said they should be .060. Question, What difference will a regap on a set of plugs make from .040 to .060. They are double Plat plugs, ACDelco 958. I have asked this question before! Crusader Techs said it would make so little of a difference I probably wouldn't notice it! I find that hard to believe. Any one have any ideas. Will it improve engine performance/fuel consumption? Is it worth doing?

The tech is correct! Most REAL mechanics just eyeball the gap and toss 'em in (with anti-seize on the threads) if the gap looks about right.

You bet! But it makes a nice accessory, doncha think?

Getting serious for a minute (really!) unless you're into racing the plug gap can be way the heck off (within reason) without effecting the way she runs. Racing is another story. Those guys even "index" their plugs so the open side faces the center of the combustion chamber (vs. the blank wall).
