I have a 1981 25hp evinrude and i am a bit worried about the colour of the bottom spark plug which is only 1 hour old.The colour is a white shade on the electrode area.Could this be a leaking head gasket?

"Stephen..... That's exactly what it sounds like. Hard to say without actually being there but that would be my assumption. There should be small fried beads on the white electrode or actual water traces.

Take a compression test. The readings should be the same on all cylinders. I suspect they will not. In which case, remove the cylinder head to inspect the gasket and sealing surfaces. Water can enter via other areas but the head gasket is most likely.
