I have a 1974 merc. 650 65hp.

I have a 1974 merc. 650 65hp. i just bought the boat and put it in the water. it ran great. last time it put it in the water it kept shutting off and sputtering real bad right before. now with the muffs on at home it wont stay running. it is also hard to crank. any ideas would be welcome.

I have a 1988 mariner 45 hp mo

I have a 1988 mariner 45 hp motor and i'm leaking lower unit oil that is comeing out down by the prop. How can i fix this leak?
 
the compression is 147 142 150

the compression is 147 142 150 on all 3 cylinders.
the plugs are all firing. gas is also pouring out of the bottom carb. could my float be stuck? also the first run i did in the boat it ran fine. it had about a 1/4 tank of gas so i filled up the 2nd trip and that is when it started screwing up.

Two things about the sputtering motor. 1rst. Did you use old gas? The gas will gel in the carbs. Although it may have run fine 1rst out, the jets will get clogged with trash or old gas. 2nd Try to crank the motor at night with cowling off. fire will sometimes jump to ground on an older motor causing mis-firing."
