Solex 44 pa1 problems

Hi! Need help, I have a 1976 glastron V174 with a Aq130D/280 outdrive with a solex 44 pa1 dual carb. The boat has been running fine for the last 5 years. The other day, when it was WOT it started bucking, I replace wires, coil, distributor cap, and then I notice that gas was leaking right through the gas hose line to the fuel pump. I then rebuilt the carbs, and I notice bits and pieces of the hose line inside the carbs. I thought that I clean it out completely, I started It up, and it ran fine while idling but, when I took it out for a run, after about 5 minutes it shuts down, I can't get it started again until I wait for 15 minutes, or so, then it starts right up! The only thing I have not clean is the line going from the fuel pump to the Carbs. Is there something else I should look at?

Fuel line and hoseclamps are cheap replace them all every four or five years. If they are original who knows how much they have broken down.

It looks like you will need to go through and clean them again. For me it was third times a charm but the third time I took it to a professional carb rebuilder. So far so good.

Interesting, I found what my problem was. When the engine died out on me and would not start up again I check to see if I had spark. No spark! About 4 years ago I had converted my points to a Hot-Spark inigition. I was curious about the Hot-spark so replace it with the orignal points and condenser, problem went away. I looked at the wire from the hot-spark to the coil and it was worn down by rubbing against the roto. When it warm up the Hot-Spark shut down. I replace it with a pertronix inigition and my boat has been running fine.
