Soft Spot on hull and left starboard side

I recently purchased a 1992 Strangali Skiff from my neighbor as l've seen the boat sit for roughly 7 years. I am 17 and am working on this boat with my friends and brother and don't have enough funds to take it to a shop for them to do everything, so ide like to do it myself. Because the boat has been sitting for so long it has collected a small amount of water that is sitting in the hull and seems to has soaked into one place creating a soft spot on the hull. There is also a piece of wood in the back left corner where the wood has rotted out and I would like to replace that as well. If anyone has had to replace a section of wood on their hull or starboard side please give me any tips on how I can tackle these issues.

a lot depends upon the construction technique used to make the hull. any idea which one was used? pictures would help a lot.

how much are you in for?

what else came with the hull?

Ide be up to spend about 2,000. I have the original manual from when the boat was made and can see how it was made. Yet if I could describe it, from the inside it looked like 1ft wide board that make up the hull connected by stringers. The soft spot seems to be right where the hull starts to curve up if that makes sense. I opened up the hatches when it was hot out and a lot of the moisture seemed to have dried up yet for some reason I can’t upload a picture or videos

Need 5 posts to add images...and then they have a file size restriction...

Another option is post the picture to a hosting site and add link..
