I have a 2004 MD2030 D which started to produce black sooty smoke about 3 months ago throughout the rev range, i have just given it a full service, checked the valve clearences and exchanged the injectors (through volvo) for new ones, but she is still blacking out the marina!!. The engine starts first time, has done 940 hours and is serviced twice a season. It has a new air filter, the air ways are clear and it smokes on and off load?? Has anyone got any ideas on what to check next.
