"I've got a 65 6HP that is

"I've got a 65 6HP that is smokeing a bluish smoke. You also have to run it with the choke about half way. I used a 50:1 fuel mixture. The motor will run wide open but smokeing. Would it be the rings, fuel mixture wrong or the carb."
 
Smoke is typical of a 2 stroke

Smoke is typical of a 2 stroke motor----- New oil is introduced into the motor via the gasoline---- after lubricating the engine for a while it ends up in the cylinder and is burned resulting in the smoke. Not to worry and it is NOT the fault of the rings.
 
If you have to keep the choke

If you have to keep the choke pulled out ----- the carburetor needs a good cleaning ----every dealer can get parts for that motor-----in outboard speak it is not " that old "
