SmartCraft Guages

Looking for a little advise here. I recently purchased an old 22’ Boston Whaler that came equipped with an 06’ ETEC 200hp that was blown with a big old hole in the block. I just bought a 2004 200hp Mercury EFI on Sunday. I got all the previous rigging with the motor but I noticed on the cowling that the motor is SmartCraft Capable. Since I have to remove my old guages anyway and install the ones I got I was wondering how easy it would be to install a SmartCraft gauge instead. I saw one that was about $200 and it seemed to have most of the tools I’d be looking for (water pressure, engine temp, oil levels, etc). In the interest of full disclosure I’m certainly no electrician and was most likely going to pay someone to wire the gauges in but I’ve been reading that the SmartCraft guages are “plug and play”. I’m just curious if that is as easy as it sounds or it’s somewhat more complex than that. Any advise would be appreciated thanks in advance.
