I have a 1998 8HP Mercury 2-stroke. Everything functions beautifully except that when the engine is tilted (manual) up and brought back down, for some reason the tilt knob (1-2-3) pops out and then goes back in. I've cleaned up the tilt lever, greased everything, adjusted the screw in the center of the knob.....same result! I have another 8 HP that does NOT do this! Anybody know what's going on??
