"Last year, the last time I had my boat out (1993 Tracker Pontton with 40 Hp Johnson) it would only run about 2500 rpm. Over the winter in reading some of the discussions but unfortunately without making any checks I decided it needed a new temp sensor which I ordered and replaced. Took it to the lake and same problem. Then I decided it must be the diode and so I ordered one of them and Saturday I was prepared to replace it but checked the old one first and found it was good. I have also saw some posts where the problem was the carbs needed rebuilding and cleaning and since I had purchased the rebuild kits some time back (it floods really easily when starting) I went ahead and did that yeaterday, but the carbs looked really clean to me although I am no mechanic and I guess it wouldn't take much to cause a problem. I haven't had a chance to try at the lake yet but I am not optimistic I have solved anything. So I guess one of my questions is if I haven't fixed it, is my power pack the next place I look - will that cause this problem? Also, would anyone have any idea where my warning horn may be located? I never get a horn at anytime, and I grounded the temp sensor yesterday and nothing so I assume I need to change it and if so where should I buy one? And last, I promise, when I pump the fuel bulb, fuel will eventually start running out the back of the motor, is this normal and am I pumping it too much? I also have a 100 Hp Johnson on a Stratos and the bulb just gets hard and I can't pump it anymore, I thought that was normal. I am sorry for the length of this but any help with any of the questions would be a big help."
